SHOPPING GUIDE
In this section, you will find several articles dedicated to making it easier for you to purchase your prescription glasses in our online store. It is important to note that, currently, we can only automatically satisfy the purchase of single vision prescription glasses.
How to interpret your prescription?
Here are some common abbreviations found in ophthalmology/optometric prescriptions:
- OD: Right Eye
- LE: Left Eye
- AO: Both Eyes
- ADD: Addition
- ESF: Sphere
- CYL: Cylinder
- AXIS: Cylinder orientation
- NPD: Naso-pupillary distance
- VL: Long View
- VP: Close View
Sphere : Represents the degree of myopia* or hyperopia*;
Cylinder: Represents the degree of astigmatism (can be represented with a negative or positive sign)* and the axis represents the direction of astigmatism compensation;
Addition: It is the value added to distance vision to correct near vision in patients with presbyopia.
Naso-pupillary distance: distance between the center of each pupil and the center of the nose. It can also be represented as IPD (inter-pupillary distance), which is the distance between both pupils.
*When the value in the “Cylinder” field is negative (-), the astigmatism is compensated by a negative cylinder and it can be stated that:
- If in the “Sphere” field the sign preceding the value is negative (-), we are dealing with myopia;
- On the other hand, if the sign preceding the value is positive (+), we are dealing with hyperopia.
Ophthalmic Lenses, what do I need to know?
We guarantee a supply of ophthalmic lenses produced with the highest quality. Our partners, in the ophthalmic lens sector, are recognized brands in the market, to ensure that you have access to the best solutions available.
When choosing the ideal lenses for your glasses, it is important to consider your visual dynamics, according to your habits and profession, as well as the prescription you need.
What is Pupillary Distance? How to measure it?
NPD, or nasal-pupillary distance, is a crucial measurement for determining the distance between the pupils and the nose.
It is equally important to measure PD, or pupillary distance, to ensure even greater accuracy.
These are crucial measurements in the production of prescription glasses, as each person has a unique pupillary distance, which makes these measurements essential to ensure that the lenses are customized according to your pupillary distance, providing clear and precise vision.
If your prescription already contains this information, this simplifies the process and you can order your glasses, including online.
What is the best shape of glasses for my face?
Choosing the right frame can make all the difference to your look and comfort. Here's a basic guide to help you find the perfect frame for your face shape.
How to choose the right glasses model?
When choosing a sunglasses or frame model, there are several factors to consider:
- FACE SHAPE

Sunglasses measurements are printed on the inside of the temples. If you don't know what size to buy and you have an old pair of glasses that you feel comfortable in, check the measurements on the temples for reference.
